Welcome to Camp Awosting-Summer Camp for Boys, accredited by the American Camp Association. We are proud to be America?s oldest private boys summer camp in continuous operation since 1900. Run by the Ebner family for over 50 years, Awosting is a camp to be cherished for it?s traditional camping program combined with caring staff, proper safety, and a great deal of FUN!

Awosting is an ancient Native American word meaning, ?flying goose.? It?s also a great place to spend a summer! We?re on the state?s largest natural lake, nestled in the rolling hills of Connecticut's Litchfield County.
Campers stay in cabins with boys their own age. Two counselors live in each cabin with the campers. All of our cabins are wood sided, carpeted and have toilets and sinks. Campers shower in one of the central and private shower houses.
Over thirty activity areas are spread out on the campus and campers will try everything. This includes swimming, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and riding mini-bikes and go-karts. We also have a climbing tower and zip line, martial arts, fencing, photography, video production, ceramics, drama and a woodshop where you can make just about anything. And don?t forget about basketball, baseball, soccer volleyball, football, lacrosse, rugby, cricket, track & field?
Meals are kid-friendly and nutritious. We eat family style in Awosting's spacious dining hall. Counselors dine with and supervise the campers at each meal. In addition, we have special theme buffet dinners throughout the summer, many with our sister camp, Chinqueka.
Life at Awosting is informal and friendly. What else would you expect from a family which has been raised at summer camp?
